SINGAPORE: A fire broke out near the H&M boutique at JEM shopping mall at Jurong East on Friday night (Apr 3).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said the blaze on the first level had started from electrical wires in the exterior wall of the building. No one was hurt in the incident.

6 Mar 2015 - 3 sent to hospital after chemical plant at Tanjong Penjuru catches fire

SINGAPORE - Three men were sent to hospital after a fire broke out at a chemical plant in Tanjong Penjuru on Friday night.

The men, two of whom sustained burn injuries, were conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a statement early on Saturday. The other man was sent to hospital as a precautionary measure.

The SCDF said that it was alerted to the fire at No. 21 Tanjong Penjuru at 8.53pm on Friday, and dispatched three fire engines, three red rhinos, 10 supporting vehicles, two ambulances and one unmanned firefighting machine to the scene.

6 Mar 2015 - Fire at Toh Yi Drive, no one injured

SINGAPORE - Fire broke out in the bedroom of a third-floor unit in Blk 13, Toh Yi Drive on Friday morning.

No one was injured.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the incident at 4.10am. It sent two fire engines, one Red Rhino and two support vehicles to the scene. The fire was extinguished using one water jet.

26 Feb 2015 - A fire broke out at an office unit at Hong Lim Complex on Thursday afternoon.

There were no injuries, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). SCDF was alerted to the fire at the third-floor unit at 1.10pm. Firefighters had to force their way into the unit by breaking down the roller shutters, and extinguished the fire with one water jet.

There was no evacuation and The Straits Times understands that there was no one in the unit at the time of the fire.

Investigations into the cause are ongoing.

12 Feb 2015 - Fire breaks out in Clementi West flat, residents evacuated

SINGAPORE - A fire broke out on Thursday morning in a 14th floor Clementi flat.

All residents of Block 604, Clementi West Street 1 are believed to have been evacuated. About 30 of them were living on the 13th and 14th floor of the block.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it received a call for help at 11.53am. The fire reportedly started from one of the bedrooms in the flat, and was extinguished by the SCDF using a water jet.

There were no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
